Members have a wide
range of benefits
As a member, you belong also to the Open Unemployment Fund A-kassa. Members are, if they qualify under the terms defined in the Act, entitled to a daily allowance that is significantly higher than the basic one paid by The Social Insurance Institution, KELA. You are entitled to the higher daily allowance when you fulfill the terms for the membership and employment.
For an employee, the requirement for employment is 26 calendar week, about six months. Employment is accumulated by every working week, which includes a minimum of 18 hours of work and the wage is per the labour agreement. The higher daily allowance can be paid only, if the employment term is fulfilled while being a member of the unemployment fund. So, you must have been a member for at least 26 weeks.
