The collective labour agreement is the most important agreement for employees
The purpose of occupational safety is to ensure safe and healthy working conditions and to promote working ability and job satisfaction. Ideally, occupational safety is integrated into the daily routines and management of the workplace. While the ultimate responsibility for health and safety rests with the employer, each employee is to shoulder their responsibility for it.
Health & safety officers are elected by the employees from among their number. Agreements on the appointment, number and duties of the health & safety officers are agreed locally between the occupational safety representative and work supervisors.
The contact details of the health & safety officers are posted on your workplace's bulletin board or available from the shop steward or union officials.
The Health and safety representative elected by the personnel serves as the workers’ and employees’ representative in issues related to occupational safety, occupational health care, and activities designed to uphold working ability and rehabilitation. He or she participates in the occupational safety inspections and surveys carried out at the workplace, and represents the personnel within the framework of occupational safety cooperation.
