PAU’s Vice Chair and National Chief Shop Steward, Satu Ollikainen, is a candidate for the personnel representative on Posti’s Board.

Posti is currently holding an election to choose the employee representative for its Board. The voting period for the employees’ candidate begins on Wednesday, January 28 at 12:00 and ends on Saturday, January 31 at 23:59. The voting will take place electronically as an E-election through a text message link. Below is Satu’s introduction.

”My name is Satu Ollikainen, and I am standing as a candidate for employee representative on the Board of Directors of Posti.

I have worked for Posti for over 30 years and have held employee advocacy roles for more than 25 years. I have served as an employee representative on Posti’s Board since late 2020. Currently, I work as the National Chief Shop Steward at Posti Jakelu Oy, representing approximately 4,500 employees in delivery and mail processing.

Employees are always my top priority. Ensuring that employees’ voices are heard and consistently advocating for their interests are matters close to my heart—both in everyday work and at the highest levels of decision-making.

I am a member of the Board of Posti’s employee fund. The employee fund is a long-standing achievement of the workforce, and in recent years its activities have been successfully revitalized after several lean and modest years. This work provides concrete benefits for Posti employees now and in the future.

I also serve as a Board member of the Posti Wellbeing Foundation, which offers all Posti employees access to culture, sports, and wellbeing services. It is important to me that employees’ wishes are genuinely heard and that services are made as widely and fairly available as possible throughout the country.

Since 2019, Posti’s approach toward its employees has changed comprehensively in a more humane and appreciative direction. Nevertheless, work must continue to ensure that employees feel valued, also during unavoidable changes. Changes can be implemented respectfully, poorly, or very poorly. That is why it is crucial that employee representatives have real influence over how Posti’s personnel policy is shaped and how changes are led and implemented.

I want to continue working to ensure that decisions at Posti are made by listening to employees, respecting them, and acting responsibly”.
