Newspaper early delivery salaries will be compensated by two million euros

29.09.2017

In the collective bargaining agreement negotiations of Logistics and Communications it was agreed that for the compensation of salaries of employees having been transferred to Posti Palvelut Oy will be used a lump sum of 2 million euros that is paid during the pay periods between November 2017 – February 2018 to the employees transferred.

For the pay periods including one calendar month a sum of 500.000 euros is allocated for the compensation of salaries. From the sum, first are compensated the removed guarantee wages, and the remaining sum is paid for the transferred employees in relation to the accumulated hours worked.

The transition agreement means in practice that the current wages for early delivery will remain intact until the end of February 2018, even though the employment conditions change on 1 November 2017. The collective agreement concerning the terms of the industrial union TEAM delivery will expire on the 31.1.2018. TEAM seeks in its negotiations to improve the level of night compensation closer to the level of PAU agreement. In the future, TEAM/industrial union will negotiate on the salaries and work conditions of the transferred newspaper early delivery employees.

Review of work packages and payment for the pieces

The counterparts agree on the target of getting as large sets of work as possible that will fill as efficiently as possible the time window of early delivery. This target is set in practice to ensure that the earnings of early delivery carriers would not drop.

The employer and the representative of employees will review every work set under 4 hours of the transferred early delivery being maximum 90 per cent of delivery time window until the end of the year 2017. A plan for each work set will be made to clarify whether the target mentioned above is realizable and with which preconditions.

Each area, where employment will cease or the employee will be moved from the area in question, will be reviewed by the counterparts mentioned above before recruiting new employees.

For the employees who want to have a larger work set, it is the aim to get a larger work set than planned until the end of February 2018.

Piece compensations agreed locally will also compensate inequality in salaries as soon as the shop steward according to TEAM collective agreement will be elected to negotiate on the compensations.
