The PAU`s Committee of Youth is organizing Summer Weekend of young members in PAU under 36 years old on May 30–31, 2026.
16.04.2026PAU has taken out union insurance and organisation insurance with If Insurance Company for its members. The insurance is included in the membership fee.
25.03.2026PAU has starting from June carried out collective bargaining negotiations of Communications and Logistics with Employer’s Organization of Service Sector PALTA.
This negotiation context has included newspaper early deliverers’ work terms with Posti. Posti announced 27.6.2017 transferring newspaper early delivery services from Posti Oy to Posti Palvelut Oy starting from 1.7.2017. Employees were transferred in connection of the transfer to the new employer as old employees. Changing of collective agreement to a cheaper one means deterioration of future work terms of the employees.
- This is a very crucial situation, so it has been our desire to negotiate without publicity to maintain industrial peace at the negotiation table, chairwoman of PAU Heidi Nieminen says.
The Communications and Logistics collective agreement is complied with the newspaper early delivery being transferred to Posti Palvelut Oy until its expiry 31.10.2017. After the validity season of Communications and Logistics collective agreement the transferee binding collective agreement i.e delivery field collective agreement and for office workers Grafinet collective agreement is complied with starting 1.11.2017.
It has been PAU’s goal in the carried-out negotiations with Posti to achieve compensation for deteriorating salaries and other work terms due to the changing of collective agreement. The negotiations have proceeded, but a satisfactory result is yet to be travelled.
The validity of Communications and Logistics collective agreement will cease on the 31.10.2017. In addition to salary increases the negotiations have included aa. the lengthening of working hours of the competitiveness pact, matters involved in the flexible time system and the shop steward organization. There have been few issues of structural changes introduced in the negotiations. There has been a discussion of a chance to make an online work contract between employer and employee. The parties had the latest negotiation in the evening of Thursday 24.8.2017. Both parties have left a sc. total package for each other to estimate, but, however, there has been no acceptable negotiation result yet. The following negotiation period has not yet been agreed.
