One job,
two collective
labour agreements.
This is wrong. Join the Union now.
There are different collective labour agreements for employees doing the same postal work. This is wrong. By becoming a member of PAU together we can demand the employers to follow at least the terms of the universally applicable collective labour agreement. This is teamwork with joined forces! #joukkuevoimalaji

Different terms are being applied for employees doing the same postal work. This causes distortion on the branch and places the employees in unequal positions. The most blatant example is when two employees are doing the same work side by side and their salary and other working terms differ very much from each other. The collective bargaining collective agreement negotiated by The Finnish Post and Logistics Union PAU is universally applicable on the branch. Most of the subcontractors and companies with temporary workers for Posti apply the cheaper collective labour agreement on the branch, both in mail delivery and sorting. Their working terms are weaker concerning both the salary and other benefits. In postal work the cheaper collective labour agreement is applied among others by SOL Logistiikkapalvelut Oy, Mailia Oy and Postipalvelut Oy (except package sorting).
Here are few examples of the differences between the collective labour agreements:
PAUs Collective Labour Agreement | Medialiittos Collective Labour Agreement |

How does PAU act?
PAU has started a legal process about the working conditions in mail sorting. SOL Logistiikkapalvelut has been applying the cheaper collective labour agreement of the branch to temporary agency workers in Posti’s mail sorting centers. This cheaper collective labour agreement includes rules for delivery work only. In PAU’s opinion this agreement may not be applied to employees in mail sorting. Instead, they should follow PAU’s collective labour agreement. The process is yet unfinished but PAU will do its best in order to turn the situation in favor of the employees.
What can you do?
Become a member in PAU. PAU demands the companies on the branch to follow working terms that are at least on the same level as the universally applicable collective labour agreement for communications and logistics sector. If you as an employee have weaker working conditions, you can influence the matter by becoming a member in PAU. When a sufficient number of the employees in a company are members in PAU, we can demand the company to follow working terms that are at least on the same level as the universally applicable collective labour agreement on the branch.
It is not right that there are two different working terms for one job. Take care of your rights, improve your unequal working conditions with joined forces!
Members are needed for a collective labour for a collective labour agreement
The meaning of the collective labour agreement is unreplaceable to an employee. The law defines only the minimum. For instance the salaries, evening- and night-work bonuses, holiday pay, bank holiday compensations, salary for maternity and paternity leave are available for the employees only by the collective labour agreement that is negotiated by the trade union. Without a collective labour agreement the employer may define the terms. Conserving and improving these benefits require that the employees get organised in a trade union.
Wide range of member benefits
PAU’s basic task is the promotion of interests of the members and the negotiation of the working conditions. By becoming a member in PAU and the unemployment fund, besides the promotion of interests you will get a wide range of valuable member benefits: legal aid for clearing labour disputes, travel- and accident insurance, unemployment benefits, training, holiday benefits and a lot more. By becoming a member in the trade union you also get a chance to influence the activity of your local chapter of the union. Get more information about the member benefits on here.
The membership fee for PAU is 1,59% of the gross income paid by your employer, including the membership fee for the unemployment fund. The membership fee for trade union and unemployment fund is in total tax deductible.
