The Finnish Post and Logistics Union PAU

The Finnish Post and Logistics Union PAU is a strong trade union with 32,000 members. At the same time, it is the largest employee organization within the Itella Group.

The Union’s mission is to promote the economic, professional and social interests as well as the rights of its members working in the postal services and in transports, logistics, cash processing and other related sectors.

The Finnish Post and Logistics Union negotiates collective bargaining agreements for the following sectors:

  • Communications and logistics
  • Cash processing services
  • Information logistics

Other collective agreements specific to individual companies:

  • Collective agreement for the goods transport industry (Kelpo Kuljetus Fi Oy)
  • Collective agreement with Silta Oy
  • Collective agreement with Åland Post

Of the collective agreements listed above, the agreements for the communications and logistics, and the cash processing sectors have applicability meaning that they apply to all employers engaged in this line of business.

The Union’s organization is based on local chapters that the individual members belong to. Currently, PAU has 88 local chapters with women accounting for 51% and men for 49% of the membership.

The union dues payable by PAU members 2012 is 1.45 % of the taxable income. The dues are tax deductible.
